Winner of Best Hotel for the Environment 2010 by Responsible Travel & Virgin Holidays
Hotel Mocking Bird Hill is a luxury, eco-chic, boutique hotel that’s nestled between the majesty of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains and the Caribbean Sea  at Port Antonio and provides a perfect combination of relaxation, romance, discovery, adventure, ecotourism and environmental responsibility.
Since the opening of its doors in December 1992, this independent hotel has thrived, earning its justified spot as Port Antonio’s #2 hotel on tripadvisor, its restaurant  Mille Fleurs repeatedly acclaimed and considered Jamaica’s best kept secret.
Intimate 10 Room Personal Service
The peaceful seclusion of this intimate, eco-chic boutique retreat provides the perfect ambiance to fall in love, tie the knot and enjoy a romantic, memorable honeymoon; all heightened by the fact that we have just 10 rooms – we believe in personal service.
Sustainable Tourism that Benefits the Local Community
Everything at Mocking Bird Hill is planned with nature and the local community at the forefront and it is managed with a dedicated concern for the environment and for promoting sustainable tourism.
We were one of the first hotels in the world to be certified as environmentally friendly. Hence no plastics among the room amenities (“bottled” water comes in reusable thermos flasks); the stationery in the guest rooms is made from recycled paper by a women’s cooperative in a nearby village; the toiletries in the bathrooms are also produced locally, and the hotel is currently in the process of expanding its use of renewable energy beyond solely solar water-heating, which the hotel has used since its opening in 1993.
The Perfect Escape from the Pressures of Today
All of these measures enhance rather than detract from our guests’ experience, practicably and philosophically.
With its serene setting and mesmerising views the hotel is an idyllic escape from the pressures of today’s hectic lifestyles, more than often enticing our guests to stay put, chilling by the pool or slipping into the garden gazebo for a soothing massage.
It provides an ideal setting for nature lovers and bird watchers. The garden, with its remarkable biodiversity, welcomes more than 28 endemic species of birds (some of them endangered, such as the Black-billed Streamer-tail). In fact, the hotel is listed in Birds of the West Indies as being one of the best places for bird-watching on Jamaica.
