This beautiful Vanda Family Orchid called Amy has just come into bloom in the Hotel Mocking Bird Gardens. With five petals you may find these type of orchids having several flowers on one stem.
We try and ensure a year-round colour display from our plants and trees to encourage diversity in the gardens, which birds particularly love and also ensures that the birds don’t become dependent on us and the use of feeders which in affect upsets their environment.
The 22 endemic birds that visit our gardens are the magical keys to a bio-diverse garden, pollinating, keeping pests down and helping to disperse seed, and growing colour to attract them is one of the least tiresome tasks of running an eco-hotel!
