What You'll Learn on Your Course

Each of the topics below will be covered in-depth by Jon, in a class of no more than 14 students,
- Learning the fundamental principles of photography (F-Stop, Shutter Speed, ISO) and how they are used in the creative taking of photographs, and how they relate to your specific camera.
- Basic rules of composition to create dynamic images.
- Depth of field and lens focal length: how they pair together to change aspects of imagery.
- Learning how to ‘see’ and use natural light in landscape, portraiture and macro photography.
- Beyond the basic image: Black & White photography and learning to see the world without colour.
- Post production tips and learning how to finish your images; editing and correcting images in Photoshop, preparing images for email and prints.
Each day’s lesson will be conducted in the early evening. This is to allow for both a holiday and the practical photography lesson to be combined during the day, discovering the beach
and embracing an off-the-beaten- track Jamaica that those
visitors to its West Coast rarely encounter.
Photographs taken whilst on these excursions will be viewed
& discussed by the class before dinner on a wide screen TV
within the gallery.
